LAS VEGAS – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team brought an end to its 2024-25 season with a hard-fought 4-2 defeat to Stephen F. Austin on Friday morning at the 2025 Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Nev.

In round three of match play, the Pioneers, who qualified fourth yesterday, met Stephen F. Austin, who qualified fifth, in an elimination match. SFA has been strong this season, as it ranked ninth in the March NTCA Poll.

SHU took a 1-0 lead in the match with an 181-174 victory in the opening game. Following a Lumberjacks' win in game two, the Pioneers retook the advantage with a 203-179 triumph in the third bout. Unfortunately for Sacred Heart, SFA went on to win the next three games to take a 4-2 victory in the Baker match.

The Pioneers ended the season ranked No. 12 in the final NTCA Poll. After a short break, SHU has qualified for the last two ITCs and has sent a bowler to the previous two Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC), as Madilyn Yockel and Karleigh LeMond qualified this year. LeMond made the final eight after picking up a pair of wins at the event earlier this week.
