LAS VEGAS – Madilyn Yockel made round three of the ISC Nationals and
Karleigh LeMond had a stellar qualifying as the Sacred Heart University bowling team had a good day one showing on Tuesday at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Nev.
Yockel rolled to a pair of wins in match play to make round three tomorrow morning. She first defeated Elizabeth Rittenour of Lindenwood, 621-576, before topping No. 2-seeded Denise Blankenzee of Sam Houston State, 694-646. She will play Amanda Granata of Youngstown State in round three.
LeMond did very well in qualifying, tying for sixth with 1,309 pins in qualifying to earn a round-one bye. Unfortunately for the sophomore, she suffered a round-two defeat to Kylee Trexler of Louisiana Tech, 619-489, to end her event.
Yockel will continue ISC play tomorrow morning, while the rest of the Pioneers will begin ITC Nationals later in the day.
