MONTGOMERY, N.Y. — On a memorable day at the Twin Ponds on the Farm, the Sacred Heart University women's cross country team competed hard in its debut showing at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The Pios took home seventh out of 13 teams as multiple harriers claimed season-bests during the race.Â

Grace Sousa completed her tenure with the team in the regular season in memorable fashion, posting a season-best time of 21:50 in the six-kilometer race, which was nearly 35 seconds faster than the time she posted on the same course earlier in the season.
Grace DelGiorno followed suit with a top-30 finish, taking 30
th for the Pios with a season-best time of 22:08.2.
Kelly Parker,
Grace Miller and
Jessica Pigott followed as the last three harriers to score for the Pios, taking home season-bests for the Pioneers.

SHU also had strong showings from its non-scorers with many achieving season and career bests on the course.
Adriana Franzese and
Anna King were the reserve scorers for the Pios, taking home sub-23 minute times with finishes of 22:33.8 and 22:50.2, respectively. Full results can be found here:Â
