SAINT ALBANS, Vt. — Grace Sousa and
Grace DelGiorno combined for a neck-and-neck top 10 finish as the Sacred Heart University women's cross country team competed at the annual University of Vermont Fall Foliage Invitational on Sunday.
Both Sousa and DelGiorno completed the five-kilometer course with season-best times as Sousa grabbed seventh with a time of 18:22.9 while DelGiorno took eighth with a time of 18:23.1.
Jessica Pigott grabbed third place for the Pios with a time of 18:46.6, taking 20
th overall.
Coming in support for SHU in the points table was
Kelly Parker and
Adriana Franzese who claimed fourth and fifth, respectively, finishing in 22
nd and 23
rd overall with sub-19-minute times.
Grace Miller continued her streak of scored times for SHU with a sixth-place team finish as her time of 18:55.2 was good for 26
th overall.
Anna King was the final scorer for SHU, taking a time of 19:09.5 to place inside the top 35 harriers at the event as the Pios grabbed a fourth overall team finish. Full results can be found here:
