MOUNT JOY, Pa. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team finished 6-1 in the second Northeast Conference meet of the season. The Pioneers are now 12-2 against NEC foes and rank first in the NEC. Mount St. Mary's is also 12-2 in the NEC but the Pioneers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker to hold the top spot.
The two-day tournament consisted of seven five-person team games across the two-day tournament.
The Pioneers picked up wins in all three matches against LIU (1,031-1,026), Wagner (1,009-928) and St. Francis Brooklyn (1,000-831).
On Sunday, SHU went 3-1 on the day with its lone loss coming to Saint Francis, 974-968. Despite falling to the Red Flash, the Pioneers were victorious against Mount St. Mary's (1,084-1,031), Duquesne (1,087-1,037), and Fairleigh Dickinson (1,069-958).
First-year
Nancy Kohut led Sacred Heart totaling 1,563 on the weekend. Kohut posted the highest score on day one of 246 and matched
Amanda Shelters for the highest score of 267 on Sunday. In day two there were three Pioneers that posted 200+ performances in three of the four games, including Hannah Manetta, Shelters and Kohut.
