Of Note:
Trailing 24-20 in the second set, the Pioneers ran off six-straight points to win the frame. Patrick Mucherino had a pair of aces and Nick Galasso came through with a kill to finish the run.
SHU fought off two match points in the fourth set, but a service error and kill ended the match.
The Red Flash had 14 blocks and 55 digs to hold the Pioneers to a .032 hitting percentage.
Setter Teddy Payne just missed a double-double with 18 assists and eight digs. Ife Loverton's nine kills were tops on the team.
