FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University men's volleyball standouts
Aleksa Mandic and
Harryzen Soares have earned Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Honorable Mention honors, recognizing their strong contributions throughout the 2025 season. In addition, 12 Pioneers were named to the EIVA All-Academic Team for their excellence in the classroom.
Mandic, a sophomore transfer and outside hitter, made an immediate impact in his first season with the Pioneers. He recorded 225 kills, 29 assists, and 30 service aces, while also contributing 96 digs and 20 blocks on defense.
First-year libero Soares anchored the back line for SHU, leading the team with 147 digs and posting an impressive .925 reception percentage.
Off the court, Sacred Heart also shined. Twelve student-athletes were named to the EIVA All-Academic Team. To qualify, each student must be at least a sophomore academically and maintain a GPA of 3.30 or higher, highlighting the team's commitment to academic achievement.
