FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team dropped Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) match to NJIT, 3-0, Saturday afternoon wrapping up its 2025 season.
Jaron Popp led the Pioneers with 14 kills hitting .226.

How it Happened
The Pioneers' late rally in the first set fell short 25-21.
Dylan McClung secure back-to-back kills toward the end to bring the Pios within three. SHU secured 13 kills hitting .321.
The Highlanders totaled seven blocks in the second as it made the difference in the set. SHU battled back from a seven-point deficit to come within three with the help of
Jaron Popp who secured two kills. NJIT responded to regain their seven-point lead at set point 24-17. While SHU battled back with back-to-back kills from
Dylan McClung at the end the Pioneers ultimately fell 25-19.
NJIT had the lead the entirety of set three. After being down eight points, SHU went on a 4-1 run with a solo block by
Connor Monroe, kill from
Carter Lyons and a block assist by
Gabriel Garcia and Monroe. While SHU came within five, the highlanders took the game 25-18.
