Box Score 2 FAIRFAX, Va. – The Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team keeps knocking on the door of that first victory but can't seal the deal. The Pioneers dropped two matches at George Mason on Sunday, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-22) in the opener and 3-0 (25-15, 29-27, 26-24) in game two.

In the second set of match two, the Pioneers had two set points after Aaron Peterson's kill made it 24-22. Two errors allowed the Patriots back in the game. Patrick Mucherino came through with a kill to make it 27-27, but GMU ended the set with a pair of kills.
The Pioneers staved off match point thanks to a GMU service error, but a pair of miscues by SHU ended the match.
SHU had two players in double-digit kills, topped by Mark Barry with a match-high 12 winners. Mucherino added 10. Timothy McIntosh picked up a match-best 13 digs.
The Pioneers hit .147, but let the Patriots go at a .287 rate.
George Mason used runs midway through the second and third sets of match one to put the Pioneers away. The Patriots hit .326 while limiting the Pioneers to a .055 rate.
Nicholas Palluzzi was tops on the team with nine kills.
