Box Score CHARLESTON, WV – For the second EIVA series in a row, the Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team nearly came through with a victory on day two. The Pioneers were turned away 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17) at the University of Charleston on Saturday.

Of Note:
After narrowly losing the first two sets, the Pioneers came through in set three. Trailing 19-18, Carlos Terraasa came through with a kill then rookie Mark Berry produced three kills in a row. After a Charleston error, Berry and Aaron Peterson teamed up on a block to finish off the set.
Sacred Heart had its best offensive match of the season, producing season bests of 47 kills and a .204 hitting percentage. The Golden Eagles hit .292 and had a 7-3 advantage in blocks.
Junior Nicholas Palluzzi had a career-high 13 kills and five digs. Berry and senior Shawn Tischler had nine kills each while setter Teddy Payne had 43 assists and Timonthy McIntosh recorded 15 digs.
