Women's Bowling Dominates in First NEC Tournament

Pioneers rank first in NEC after posting 6-1 weekend record

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team dominated in its first Northeast Conference tournament of the season this weekend. The Pioneers posted a 6-1 weekend record across seven baker matches which places them at the top of the NEC standings.
 
SHU kicked off the tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over Wagner before falling narrowly, 4-3, to Long Island in the lone loss of the weekend. The Red & White rounded out the day on a high note as they topped both Mount St. Mary's and Duquesne, 4-1. 
 
In day two, the Pioneers went undefeated, dropping just three games across three matches. First, SHU defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-1, before posting a perfect 4-0 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn. Sacred Heart closed out the tournament, 4-2, against Saint Francis.
