The Sacred Heart Pioneers drop an EIVA contest against the Red Flash of Saint Francis U. Emerson Waumans led the pack with 12 kills, as he only appeared in three of the four sets. The Pioneers are back in action next week as they take on the NJIT Highlander on the 14^th.

Noteworthy-

• Eduardo Zardo dished out 35 assists on the night, and also added two service aces
• Joshua Ayzenberg ate up 11 digs, as he still leads the NCAA in digs per set with 3.07

SET 1-

• The Pioneers started slow, as they trailed 7-2 earlier after the persistent blocking from the Red Flash
• The Pioneers found their rhythm as they clawed back, with the help of a Chris Johnston and a big block
• Michael Comens would add a must needed kill to move the score to 16-13 in favor of the Red Flash
• The Pioneers would go on to drop the opening set 25-21

SET 2-

• Saint Francis U didn't skip a beat from the first set, as they jumped to an early 12-6 lead
• The Pioneers originally seven came on the court, and made their presence known, moving the score to 14-13 in favor of the Red Flash
• Emerson Waumans was an animal on the attack, adding a couple of big kills, tieing the score up 15-15
• Blake Cox, made an amazing block to give the Pioneers the 17-16 lead
• Each team would battle back and forth, as the score would remain tied up 21-21
• Behind the blocking of Cox, SHU would go on to take the second set 25-23

SET 3-

• Both teams came out guns blazing as they exchanged points back and forth, leaving the score 4-3 in favor of SFU
• Pioneers took the lead following a service ace from Waumans to keep the score at 7-6
• A Christopher DeLucie ace would keep the Pioneer ahead 13-12
• The Pioneers caught momentum behind the leadership of Waumans, as SHU would force the Red Flash to take a timeout with the score 19-15 in favor of SHU
• The Pioneers wouldn't be able to hold off the late Red Flash rally, as they would drop the third set 25-23

SET 4-

• Tensions were high as they fourth set began, Waumans added a big kill to give SHU an early 9-7 lead
• Saint Francis U would rattle off a pair of points, moving the score to 13-10 in favor of SFU, forcing SHU to take their first timeout
• Each team battled back and forth till the score stood 21-20 in favor of SFU
• Sacred Heart wouldn't be able to hold off the Red Flash as they take the fourth and final set 25-22
