Final Stats

Newark, NJ - Amobi Armstrong had a match-high 11 kills and Leonardo Paludo notched 10 kills to lead NJIT to a sweep of Sacred Heart, 3-0 (30-22, 30-16, 30-18) Thursday night in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

NJIT controlled most of the match with a team attack percentage of .348, a 13-3 advantage in service aces and a 10-4 team blocking advantage. In addition to their two hitters, setter Rodrigo Correa collected 41 assists, while Eduardo Welter had a match-best 12 digs.

Sophomore Barry Smith (Shelton, CT) was strong on the attack for the Pioneers, with 9 kills, 0 errors and 17 attempts for a .529 hitting percentage. He also had a team-leading 7 digs. Setter John Breen (North Andover, MA) had 26 assists. Sophomore Daniel Donohue (Nutley, NJ) had six digs.

The Pioneers are back in action Friday night when they visit Springfield College in an EIVA match set for 7:00 pm.
