Men's Volleyball Swept by Harvard

Fairfield, CT - Freshman Brady Weissbound led all players with 13 kills as Harvard swept Sacred Heart, 3-0, in men's volleyball action Wednesday night at the Pitt Center. The win was the fourth straight for Harvard, who improved to 4-8 overall and 3-3 in EIVA play. Meanwhile, the Pioneers fell to 0-12 on the season and 0-7 in conference.

The Crimson got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 12-6 lead in the first game. From there, they hung on for a 30-24 win. The teams battled back and forth in the second game before Harvard took control with a late 7-2 run that led to another 30-24 victory.

The final game was close as well, with neither team ever leading by more then two points. The Pioneers led 28-26 before the Crimson scored the final four points to close out the match.

The Pioneers were led by freshman Brian Rosa (Shelton, CT) who had 10 kills. Junior John Breen (North Andover, MA) also had nine kills to extend his team lead in the category. Libero Brent Monden (Kanehoe, HI) led all players with nine digs in the match.

Sacred Heart is back in action Friday night when they visit Vassar. Game time is 7:00 pm.
