FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart women's hockey team earned another important point in NEWHA play Friday at Martire Arena. The Pioneers and Stonehill skated to a 3-3 draw, but the Skyhawks earned the extra point by winning the shootout 1-0.
SHU was two minutes away from taking all three points, but Stonehill's Maeve Connolly scored at 17:53 of the third period to tie the score.
Trailing 2-1 after two periods, the Pioneers tied the score on
Sydney Antonakis' goal just 1:28 in.
Isabella Chaput then put Sacred Heart in front 3-2 with her 10th goal of the season at 9:41.

FIRST PERIOD
The Skyhawks carried the play in the opening 20 minutes, outshooting the Pioneers 15-2. Stonehill, though, only managed a 1-0 lead on Kathryn Karo's goal at 17:54. SHU goalie
Lauren Larson made 14 saves to keep the game close.
SECOND PERIOD
Alyssa Antonakis deflected
Anastasia Sloan's shot from the left point past Stonehill goalie Eve Stone at 2:49. The Skyhawks answered less than three minutes later when Connolly scored the first of her two goals.
OVERTIME
Sacred Heart had a 7-2 edge in shots in the five-minute extra period but couldn't net the game winner.
SHOOTOUT
Connolly was the only player to convert in the shootout. It was the first of the six attempts.
