BOSTON, Mass. - The day started and ended with top finishes for the Sacred Heart women's track and field team.
Grace Sousa started strong, placing third in the 5000, and as part of the winning 4x400 relay with
Madeline Archangelo,
Julia MacLaine,
Veralie Perrier, and
Sierra Thompson.
Sousa ran a personal best of 17:33.75 in the 5000, ranking her third in the MAAC, while the 4x400m team posted a time of 4:07.44. The top finishes continued with Annalise Nassey grabbing the top time of 26.19 in the 200 Open and junior
Brooke DeWeese coming in at 26.59 which was fifth.
Nyahingia Musa placed fourth in the 60 dash with a time of 7.91, and in the 60 hurdles,
Magdalena Brogioli would finish in 8.87 placing fifth. Rounding it out on the track was a Sprint Medley Relay of Magdalena, Brogioli,
Kaitlyn Caraco,
Ava Srinivasan, and
Sofia Caito, who ran a 4:26.08 to place third.
In the field events, the top finishes didn't stop as a pair of Pioneers would go first and second in the Triple Jump.
Kaitlyn Caraco would grab the top mark of 11.10m and
Ava Srinivasan would end with 10.99m. In the high jump invite,
Lauryn Piccirelli placed fourth with a mark of 1.63m, while
Magdalena Brogioli continued her strong day winning the event with a jump of 1.68.
In the throwing circle, two first-years shined.
Suzan Adekunle came in fourth and threw 16.19m in the weight throw, while in the shot put,
Elena Chaplin threw 12.86, which placed her in third and ranks as the best mark in the MAAC.
