Strong Showing for SHU at Suffolk Relays

BOSTON, Mass. - It was a strong day for the Sacred Heart men's indoor track and field team at the Suffolk Relays. The meet was highlighted by two top finishes which also rank among the best in the MAAC. Connor Meikle ran a sub 50-second time and would finish in third in the 400, while Colin Brown finished in fourth in the 200.

Meikle, a senior from Sandwich, Mass., ran a 49.76, ranking as the third fastest time in the MAAC. Brown would finish in 21.94 giving him the best time in the MAAC this year. Two Pioneers would finish in ninth as Damon Wilson ran an 8.82 in the 60 Hurdles, while Michael Mason ran the 3000 in 8:47.55.

Nazir Hibbert would claim sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m and currently has as the second-best mark in the MAAC. Aidan Glennon threw 14.79m in the shot put which was sixth. A trio of throwers placed in the top 10 in the weight throw. Tyler Durant claimed sixth with a throw of 15.99m, Nathan Ainabe was right behind him in seventh after throwing for 15.85m, and Joshua Wood finished in ninth with a mark of 15.79m.

The day was capped with both of Sacred Heart's 4x400m relay teams placing in the top five. The team of Alexander Rotondi, Colin Brown, Aidan Cale and Jakob Sargent finished in second with a time of 3:31.30. The second team of Jacques Lucien II, Douglas Suter, Kevin Dorio and Dominic Miele came in fourth with a time of 3:36.57.
