Box Score 2 HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University baseball team returned to University Field on Saturday, splitting a doubleheader at Hofstra. The Pioneers took the first game, 4-3, but fell 27-7 to the Pride in the second.

Game 1
Score: Sacred Heart 4, Hofstra 3
Of Note:
- Trevor Fagan sent a sacrifice fly out to left field, allowing Danny Glendon, who led off with a single, to cross home plate in the opening inning.
- Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, Glendon singled up the middle and an error by the Hofstra center fielder allowed pinch runner Mark Smith to score.
- Austin Markmann followed with a single through the left side, allowing Glendon to score his second run of the game.
- Isiah Daubon scored the winning run on a wild pitch after getting into scoring position with his second stolen base of the season after reaching on an error.
- Right-hand pitcher Ryan LaMay threw the opening 4.2 innings, letting up all of Hofstra's three runs.
- Jack Bebbington got the final out of the fifth inning to pick up the victory. Brendan Coffey threw two scoreless innings in relief to get the save.

Score: Hofstra 27, Sacred Heart 7
Of Note:
- SHU dug itself a deep hole, allowing 18 runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
- Markmann led the team with two runs scored, crossing home in the sixth and ninth innings, of a Daubon triple and a double from Emerson, respectively.
- In the sixth inning, senior Julian Pedrouzo belted his first career home run to left field, also driving home Emerson.
- Pedrouzo, Emerson and Daubon each tallied two RBIs. Emerson had a team-high three hits.
