LAST TIME OUT
The Pioneers suffered a pair of losses at Yale on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play. The Bulldogs took game one by a 7-3 final score and the nightcap 9-4. In the opener, the Bulldogs led 7-1 after the first four innings before SHU started to make things interesting. In the top of the seventh, the Pioneers loaded the bases multiple times, working a pair of RBI walks to score two runs. SHU eventually had the game-tying run at the plate, but a fly out to right field sealed the win for Yale. The Bulldogs again led early in game two, 8-0, before SHU started to rally. The Pios got as close as five runs in a 9-4 road defeat.
KEEP IT ROLLING
The Pioneers ride a five-game win streak into this weekend's series. SHU swept Niagara this past weekend before taking both ends of a doubleheader against Saint Peter's at home on Tuesday.
