The Pioneers dropped a pair of home games against Manhattan on Wednesday. Both defeats came by one run, 1-0 and 4-3, as the Pios also outhit the Jaspers by a 15-6 margin. SHU was led by strong pitching, as
Sam Kowalski led the way with a 0.78 ERA over 9.0 innings. She tossed a complete game in game one, giving up one hit and one earned run before throwing 2.0 innings in game two without a run. Kowalski tallied 11 strikeouts over the two appearances.
