EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team secured the reverse sweep against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponent Mount Saint Mary's with a win in game three on Sunday, 7-6, to take its first conference series of the season.
Alex Ungar led the Pios at the plate with three hits including his first home run of the season.

How it Happened:
As the leadoff man,
Alex Ungar drove one out of the park for a solo home run to put the Pios on the board first for a 1-0 lead.
The teams sat through a quiet two innings until Mount Saint Mary's plated two with an RBI single.
Another quiet two innings pass until SHU responded in the seventh. With two outs, two strikes, and a runner on,
Joe Cilea sent a bomb over the wall for his first collegiate home run, plating himself and
Tim McGuire to build a 3-2 lead.
Dante D'Amore crossed home in the eighth on a Mountaineer error at left field.
The Mount added three to take a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth on a ground out, an error, and an RBI base hit.
Things got interesting in the ninth inning. SHU secured back-to-back first-pitch doubles from Ungar and
Gavin Donohue to tie things up at five. With Donohue on base,
Steak Newman delivered SHU's third homer of the day to take the 7-5 lead heading into bottom of the ninth.
With two outs and bases loaded, a hit-by-pitch plated a Mountaineer to make it 7-6. With bases still loaded, Slusarski flew out to
Peter Link in center field to secure the Pio win, stranding three on base.
The Pioneers will face Yale in a mid-week matchup on Wednesday, March 12, at 3 p.m.
