The teams sat through a quiet two innings until Mount Saint Mary's plated two with an RBI single.

Another quiet two innings pass until SHU responded in the seventh. With two outs, two strikes, and a runner on, Joe Cilea sent a bomb over the wall for his first collegiate home run, plating himself and Tim McGuire to build a 3-2 lead.

Dante D'Amore crossed home in the eighth on a Mountaineer error at left field.

The Mount added three to take a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth on a ground out, an error, and an RBI base hit.

Things got interesting in the ninth inning. SHU secured back-to-back first-pitch doubles from Ungar and Gavin Donohue to tie things up at five. With Donohue on base, Steak Newman delivered SHU's third homer of the day to take the 7-5 lead heading into bottom of the ninth.

With two outs and bases loaded, a hit-by-pitch plated a Mountaineer to make it 7-6. With bases still loaded, Slusarski flew out to Peter Link in center field to secure the Pio win, stranding three on base.
