LONG BEACH, Cali. – The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team fell to No. 1 Long Beach State, 3-0, on Friday night in California.
Aleksa Mandic led SHU with 11 kills.

How It Happened:
Sacred Heart came out to play against the undefeated Beach as the team battled through three early ties in the first. Long Beach State went on a four-point run to take the lead. SHU came back within one but was unable to hold off a Beach 5-0 run at the end of the set falling 25-18.
Long Beach State dominated the second set as the Pios could not seem to halt the it's offensive game falling 25-16.
The Pioneers started the third set off hot securing five-straight points unanswered.
Alec Niemczyk secured three back-to-back kills to take the 7-5 lead. Long Beach State answered with a 7-1 run for a four-point lead. The Pios were unable to regain the lead falling 25-20.
The Pioneers will face UC San Diego to wrap up their California spring break stint on Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. PST.
