LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team has made a habit of rallying from behind in 2025, with eight of its 12 wins entering Saturday coming in come-from-behind fashion. That trend continued against Siena, as the Pioneers erased a 4-0 deficit and exploded for 12 unanswered runs, powered by a season-high four home runs, to claim a 12-4 victory and secure their sixth consecutive series win.

How It Happened
After surrendering six runs in the first inning of game two of Friday's doubleheader, Siena flipped the script Saturday, launching a first-inning home run to jump out to an early lead.
On the mound, Ryan Parker settled in after the early blast, holding the Saints scoreless in the second and third innings. However, he ran into trouble in the fourth, loading the bases with no outs.
PJ Rogan entered in relief, but Siena's momentum continued as all three runners crossed the plate, extending the lead to 4-0.
Sacred Heart's offense came alive in the fifth.
Tim McGuire put SHU on the board with a groundout RBI that brought Gavin Donohue home. He continued his strong weekend in the seventh, tripling down the right-field line to plate Zack Kovalchik.
The Pioneers' offense erupted in the eighth, powered by the long ball.
After Chuck Tallman reached on a hit-by-pitch, Ronan Donohue delivered, launching a two-run homer—his first of the season—to tie the game.
SHU kept the pressure on, putting two runners aboard for Alex Ungar, who gave the Pioneers their first lead with a sacrifice fly that plated Kovalchik.
Moments later, Dante D'Amore provided insurance runs, launching a three-run homer to left-center to cap the six-run eighth.
In the ninth, the Pioneers continued their offensive surge. Kovalchik crushed a two-run homer beyond the left-field fence, immediately followed by a solo shot from G. Donohue. McGuire rounded out the scoring with an RBI double that brought Ungar home, sealing the 12-4 victory.
