LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University softball team outhit Rider in the rubber match of the two teams' Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series on Sunday, but the Broncs used a strong first two innings to secure a 4-0 home victory in Lawrenceville, N.J.

The Broncs took control of today's contest with two runs in the first and second innings to build a 4-0 advantage.
SHU did not allow another Rider hit for the remainder of the game. In fact, the Pioneers finished the contest with a 6-4 hit advantage.
Six different Pios finished with a hit today, led by
Charlene Davis and
Sam Kowalski, each with a double.
Kowalski threw all 6.0 innings for the Pioneers, giving up three earned runs with seven strikeouts. She allowed one baserunner over the final four innings of the game.
