BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team defeated Saint Peter's Sunday afternoon in a 20-run game to take the series, 11-9.
Alex Ungar led the Pioneers going 4-for-5 at the plate with five RBIs and a home run.
Dante D'Amore went 3-for-3 with three hits with two doubles and three RBIs.

How it Happened:
The Peacocks got an early 4-0 lead in the first inning as the first three batters secured base hits. Logan Baker plated Garrett Greco with a fielder's choice. Then two base hits secured the next two runs for STP.
Securing his third double of the series,
Dante D'Amore plated
Alex Ungar in the bottom of the first to dampen the Peacocks lead, 4-1.
After keeping Saint Peter's bats quiet in the top second, SHU took the lead in bottom adding four runs. With runners on second and third, Ungar hit a hard ball right up the middle plating
JW Fitzgerald and Link. With his second double on the day an fourth of the series, D'Amore plated
Gavin Donohue and Ungar.
After a quiet two innings, Saint Peter's took a short-run lead. Tyler DeClusin was plated on a Pio error. With bases loaded Alex Manent laid down a bunt to plate Ethan Starks and a walk scored the third run for the 7-5 lead.
That lead was short-lived as SHU added five of their own in response. In his first at bat of the game,
CJ Nolan tripled off the left center wall. Link then plated Nolan with a groundout. With two runners on,
JW Fitzgerald reached on a fielder's choice, plating
Joe Cilea. Ungar added three more with his second home run of the series.
Link added the eleventh and final run for the Pios with an inside the park home run to deep center field.
Saint Peter's added two runs in the top of the seventh but were unable to come back as SHU took the series, 11-9.
