FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team fell to the University of Charleston (WV) on Saturday night, 3-0, in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association conference opener.

How It Happened:
The Golden Eagles took an early 11-2 lead in the first set. SHU fought back to come within four but was unable to cut the deficit and ultimately fell 25-18.
The second set saw more even play from both teams. Charleston was able to take a five-point lead and maintain it until SHU rallied at the end to close the gap. The Pioneers built a wall to slow down the Golden Eagles as SHU secured five straight blocks to come within two. Charleston was able to take the second in 25-21.
The third set was closely but the Pios were unable to finish falling 26-24.
