FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's volleyball team fell to the University of Charleston on Sunday in game two of the opening Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) series 3-1.

How It Happened:
Charleston dominated the first set, defeating the Pios 25-17.
The Golden Eagles took an early seven-point lead in the second set heading to the media. The Pioneers went on a 6-2 run after the media to close the gap but ultimately fell 25-18.
The Pioneers battles through nine ties in the third set as the teams stayed within two points of each other for most of the match. The Pioneers halted Charleston at the net holding them to a .040 hitting percentage, collecting six blocks. SHU took the third 25-20.
The Golden Eagles came out swinging in the fourth as they were able to hold onto an early lead to win the match with a 25-13 finish.
