WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Hofstra on Saturday evening in its second match of the Black Knights Invitational, hosted by Army at the Gillis Field House.
Allison Murray and
Camryn Luginbuhl continued to be the Pioneers' best offensive weapons, as the senior duo tallied 10 and nine kills, respectively.
Gaby Zovko was at the center of SHU's attack with 22 assists on the team's 27 kills.

Molly Newton tallied her first career kills.

How It Happened:
The Pride convincingly took the first two sets, winning 25-15 and 25-8 to take a 2-0 lead into the third.
The third was much closer than the first two frames, as Hofstra escaped with a 25-23 victory. The Pride stormed out to an early 12-5 lead before SHU answered with an extended 13-7 run to cut the margin to one, 19-18. Hofstra responded with a 5-1 surge to set up match point at 24-19. The Pios did not go down without a fight, however, as a 4-0 burst got the deficit to 24-23. Unfortunately for Sacred Heart, the Pride took the next point to seal the victory.
