NEWPORT, R.I.— The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team prevailed on the road with a 4-3 victory at Rhode Island on Sunday.
The Pioneers took the doubles point with wins from the teams of
Kim Fenton and
Vitalina Golod and
Katsiaryna Starastsenka and
Olivia Kharkover.
The Rams tallied the first two nods in singles, which gave them the 2-1 advantage. Senior
Ciara O'Toole tied the match at No. 5 before Rhode Island took back the lead, 3-2.
Sophomore
Aina Garriga and Starastsenka came out on top in three sets to ice the win for SHU.
Up next, the Pioneers head to UConn on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
