MEDFORD, Mass. — Sacred Heart University women's fencing won four competitions Sunday at the third Northeast Fencing Conference competition of the year at Tufts University, edging out Vassar College by a point and handling UMass 25-2 and Dartmouth 17-10 after winning by forfeit to Drew University.
Jenna Jacinto led the foil squad with eight victories throughout the day. For the epee squad, Nadia Gaberkorn remained strong leading the charge with 13 bouts won on the day's competition. Natalia Mataiev had six victories and Sophie Witek led the women's saber squad with 12 victories.
The fencing team's next competition will be at the Columbia Invitational on February 15.
