Delani MacKay's backhanded shot from the low slot sailed into the top of the net with 1:38 left in regulation as the Sacred Heart Women's Hockey Team gained a 2-2 overtime tie with Post at the Martire Family Arena in NEWHA action today.
The graduate first-line center had a goal and an assist and now has 12 and 24 respectively this winter.
The Pioneers, who increased their unbeaten string to four games, were pumping shots on goal during their annual Heart to Heart mental health awareness contest. The home team produced 43 overall compared to 25 by the Eagles.

Nicole Guidi during a 4-on-4 late in the first period to open the scoring. SHU was cycling the puck and graduate captain
Kelly Solak dropped it for MacKay, who saw Guidi open to the left of the crease. The graduate student blueliner, who may have seemed out of position, re-directed the pass past Grace Giasrud for her fifth of the year.
The visitors evened the score a few minutes later on a breakaway, one of just three shots on target in the opening frame.
Sophomore
Carly Greene, who finished with 23 saves for SHU, made a big stop on a 2-on-1 rush with 28 seconds left in regulation to keep it at 2-2. Both teams had multiple, grade A chances in the OT to end the game.
The Pios, who were wearing their special green Heart to Heart jerseys today, have a huge weekend series with Franklin Pierce this weekend at Rindge, N.H. They skate Friday at 7:30 and Saturday at 4 p.m.
