FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sacred Heart women's hockey goaltender
Carly Greene finished the 2024-25 season as the NCAA statistical champion in save percentage. Greene made 549 saves and yielded only 27 goals for a .953 save percentage, which was the highest in the nation.
Greene also finished seventh nationally with a 1.54 goals against average.
It was an exceptional senior season for Greene, who was named the Most Outstanding Player in leading the Pioneers to the NEWHA Tournament championship. In four playoff games, she stopped 145 of 149 shots (.973) with two shutouts. In the semifinal victory over Saint Anselm, she made 50 saves, and she had 31 in the championship game win over LIU. Greene also shined in SHU's first-ever NCAA Tournament game, stopping 52 shots against Minnesota Duluth in the regional semifinal.
Early in the season, Greene was named the Hockey Commissioners Association's (HCA) Women's Goaltender of the Month of October.
She finished her outstanding SHU career with a .929 save percentage and a 2.33 goals against average in 61 games.
