WEST POINT, N.Y.— The Sacred Heart University women's tennis fell in its match to Army West Point, 4-0, at Malek Tennis Center on Saturday.
SHU had a rough start as it fell in the first doubles 6-2 and second doubles 6-1.
The Black Knights got the opening point by winning 6-2 at number one doubles and 6-1 at numbrer two.
Army took the first three singles matches to claim victory.
Katsiaryna Starastsenka nearly forced a third set, but lost the set two tiebraker, 7-4.
The number four, five and six singles matches were stopped after the Black Knights clinched the deciding team point. Sophomore
Aina Garriga won set two, 6-1, at the number 4 before the rest of play was suspended.
Up next, Sacred Heart wraps up the weekend against Seton Hall at West Point on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
