WEST POINT, N.Y.— The Sacred Heart Universtiy women's tennis team started the spring with a 7-0 victory over Binghamton at Army West Point on Friday.
The Pioneers started the competition by winning two of the three doubles matches to get the first point. Golod and
Kim Fenton tallied a 6-1 win over Abby Ackroyd and Maria Pereira at number two. At number three,
Aina Garriga and
Flavia Rambaldi picked up their first win as a team, edging Caterina Casadei and Lara Kaplan, 6-4.
The Pioneers swept all six of their singles matches.

Katsiaryna Starastsenka won their matches in straight sets.
Sophomore Ana Sofia Angeles Sanchez registered her first career victory for Sacred Heart. The Queretaro, Mexico native defeated Bridget Martin 6-3, 6-0 at number six singles.
Senior
Ciara O'Toole won the first set, 6-4, before dropping the second set 6-3 and coming back at a score of 10-8 in the tiebreaker to beat Ackroyd at number five.
Up next, Sacred Heart continues its weekend at West Point, facing host Army on Saturday at 12 p.m.
