Box Score WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.— The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team won its first dual match of the season with a 6-1 decision at Monmouth on Wednesday.
 
Three Pioneers earned singles victories in straight sets. Junior Katsiaryna Starastsenka defeated Zoe Klapman, 6-4, 6-4. Senior Ciara O'Toole swept the contest over Lenien Jamir (6-1, 6-4), while sophomore Aina Garriga notched a singles win against Jo Pax, 6-4, 6-2.
 
Vitalina Golod and Flavia Rambaldi joined the win column for Sacred Heart after coming out with victories on tiebreakers. 
 
In doubles, Golod and junior Kim Fenton tallied a 6-1 victory over Hana McKinney and Lana Brezanin. Garria and sophomore Olivia Kharkover tallied the Pioneers' second double win, defeating Lenien Jamir and Lauren Landstrom, 6-3.
 
Up next, Sacred Heart heads to the Army Invitational from Friday through Sunday.
