NEWARK, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team fell 6-1 in its regular season finale on Friday night. The Pioneers finish the regular season 11-12 overall.
SHU started the day by securing the doubles point, thanks to tiebreak wins from
Katsiaryna Starastsenka and
Ciara O'Toole at number one, and
Aina Garriga and
Olivia Kharkover at number three.
The Highlanders went on to clinch the match as they won all six singles matches.
Vitalina Golod and O'Toole were the lone Pioneers to win a set as they both took the first set, 6-2, but fell in sets two and three.
The next time the Pioneers hit the court will be for the Northeast Conference championship in West Windsor, N.J. on April 14-16.
