WORCESTER, Mass.- The Sacred Heart University softball team double-header at Holy Cross resulted in a split as the Pioneers won 5-2 in eight innings in game one and fell 6-0 in game two on Thursday.

Of Note:
- The Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 in the top of the first off an RBI groundout by Morgan Teodosio scoring in Kylee Harvey from third.
- In the third inning Teodosio struck again with an RBI single through the left side scoring in Sydni Carroll to put SHU ahead 2-0.
- Holy Cross struck back in the bottom half of the inning with a an RBI single Claire McCann to narrow the SHU lead to 2-1.
- Two innings later in the bottom of the fifth, the Crusaders evened the game up at 2-2 off a sacrifice fly to left field which led to a throwing error scoring in the run.
- In the eighth inning the Pioneers secured the extra inning victory with three runs coming off the bats of Halie Ebert, Kylie Gurysh and Jenna Mowad who fired a pair of singles and one double to secure the 5-2 win.

- The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning off a wild pitch and single.
- They added on to their lead an inning later as they scored three more runs off an sacrifice fly, single through the right side and a single to third base.
- Holy Cross tallied one more run in the bottom of the sixth of an RBI single to third base resulting in the 6-0 shutout.
- The Pioneers only recorded three total hits in the game.
