Softball Drops Series Finale to Wagner 10-4

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University softball team dropped the series finale to Wagner 10-4 on Sunday afternoon.

Of Note:
  • The Seahawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning off an RBI single to left center.
  • The Pioneers countered in the bottom half of the inning as Grace Saad ripped an RBI double to right center scoring in Kylee Harvey to even the score at 1-1.
  • Wagner added two runs off an RBI double to left center to give the Seahawks a 3-1 lead.
  • The Seahawks added to their lead in the top of the fourth inning off a sacrifice fly to center field to give Wagner a 4-1 lead.
  • An RBI double by Morgan Teodosio in the bottom half of the fourth scored in Amy Petrovich to narrow the Wagner lead to 4-2.
  • Wagner then score six unanswered runs heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when Maighread Scafariello grounded to short scoring in Emily Carroll to make the score 10-3.
  • Jenna Mowad scored the final run for the Pioneers with an RBI single to second base to make the final score 10-4.
