FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University softball team split its series against Wagner on Saturday winning the opening game 3-2 in eight innings and falling 3-2 in the second game.

- Both sides were held scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when Bianca Worthy put the Seahawks on the scoreboard with an RBI single to the catcher to put Wagner ahead 1-0.
- SHU evened the game up at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning as Emily Carroll ripped an RBI single to left field scoring in Alyssa Gonzalez from second.
- Wagner countered in the top of the sixth and Mackenzie Miller hit an RBI triple to right center scoring in one to give the Seahawks a 2-1 lead.
- In the bottom of the seventh inning Kylee Harvey would send the game into extra innings with an RBI single to center field scoring in Emily Carroll to even the score up at 2-2.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning, Amy Petrovich launched an RBI double to left field scoring in Cayla Nista to secure the 3-2 victory.

- Wagner struck first with an sacrifice fly and a run scored to put the Seahawks ahead 2-0 in the top of the second inning.
- SHU answered as Meghan Knepper scored off an double play ground out by Emily Carroll to narrow the lead to 2-1.
- Wagner countered in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI single to the shortstop to put the Seahawks ahead 3-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth Kylee Harvey fired an RBI single to right field scoring in Morgan Teodosio to narrow the Wagner lead to 3-2.
- Teodosio ripped her first collegiate hit in the bottom of the fifth with a double to left center.
