RIVERSIDE, Calif.- The Sacred Heart University softball team concluded play at the Amy S. Harrison Classic with a 5-4 victory over UC Riverside on Sunday.

Of Note:
- UC Riverside took a 1-0 lead after the first inning as a sacrifice fly to center field scored in the runner from third.
- After a scoreless second inning, the Pioneers dominated the third scoring four runs first coming off an RBI by Jenna Mowad which scored in Cayla Nista and Kylee Harvey to put SHU ahead 2-1.
- Later in the inning, Alyssa Gonzalez would reach base off a fielding error which scored in Mowad to give the Pioneers a 3-1 lead.
- Grace Saad capitalized with the runners on base as she ripped a single to right field scoring in Amy Petrovich to put the Pioneers ahead 4-1.
- In the fourth inning, the Highlanders evened the score up at 4-4 off a two-run home run followed by a sacrifice fly to center field.
- But the Pioneers had the final say as Gonzalez tallied her first home run of the year in the top of the seventh inning which was enough to secure the 5-4 victory.
