Box Score TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team picked up its second-straight win and moves to 3-1 in Northeast Conference play with a 7-0 sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday night.
In doubles action, the Pioneers did not allow more than two points from their opponent.
Aina Garriga and
Flavia Rambaldi were the first of the doubles tandems to take down the Terriers as they took the third spot, 6-0.
Katsiaryna Starastsenka and
Ciara O'Toole at first doubles were the next to finish, 6-1, followed by
Vitalina Golod and
Kim Fenton who won their second-straight doubles match as a pair at second, 6-2.
Ana Sofia Angeles Sánchez, Starastsenka, Golod, Rambaldi and Garriga all won in straight sets during singles play. O'Toole outlasted Angelica Karlsson Hantzis in three sets after dropping the tiebreaker in set two. The junior finished the job and won set three, 6-3.
The Pioneers continue in NEC play when they host Bryant on Sunday, March 27 at 6 p.m.
