Box Score TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team won its third-straight match with a 7-0 victory over Northeast Conference opponent Wagner on Saturday. The Pioneers are now 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the NEC.
SHU first took the doubles point when
Katsiaryna Starastsenka and
Ciara O'Toole won 6-1 at first doubles while
Keira Tobia and
Kim Fenton topped their opponent at second doubles, 6-2.
In singles, the Pioneers won three in straight sets.
Vitalina Golod came back and forced a third set after falling, 6-2, in the first. Golod prevailed and took the second set, 6-0, followed by a 6-4 third set. The Seahawks did not have anyone compete in fifth or sixth singles which resulted in two wins for the Red & White.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at UConn.
