SHELTON, Conn. — Nicole Guidi's early third-period goal broke a 3-3 tie in the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team's, 5-3, NEWHA win over Franklin Pierce on Friday.

Of Note:
Guidi's game-winning goal, off the assist from Anna Klein at 2:21 in the third would be the edge the team needed against the top seed in the NEWHA standings.

Kelly Solak tallied an insurance goal two minutes later.

Paige McNeil opened the scoring with a quick goal in the first period after a minute and 12 seconds of play. 

The Ravens tallied back-to-back goals halfway through the opening period to take their first lead of the night. 

With two and a half minutes remaining in the first, co-captain Klein tied the game with help from Alexa Ocel. 

The second period saw only one goal as Sophie Lupone set up Kennedy Spiering's goal at 1:02 to put the Red & White up, 3-2. 

Franklin Pierce tied it three apiece a little over a minute into the final period.
