- After a scoreless first inning, Virginia would tack on five runs in the bottom of the second inning including a two-run home-run by Katie Goldberg.
- The Cavaliers added another run in the third off a throwing error then capitalized in the fourth with a pair of home-runs to secure the 8-0 shutout.
- Three Pioneers recorded hits in the game coming off the bats of Kylee Harvey, Myah Eldred and Amy Petrovich.
