FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The offensive attack of fourth-ranked Penn State was too much for the Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team. The Pioneers dropped a 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-16) decision on Saturday at the Pitt Center.

Penn State got out to a fast start, rattling off the first nine points of the opening set. Sacred Heart played tougher in set two, closing to 10-9 on a
Carlos Santa Cruz kill, but the Nittany Lions responded with a 6-2 run on its way to winning the set.
Patrick Mucherino's kill closed the third-set game to 12-10, however PSU put the match away with a 6-0 run.
Mucherino was tops on the squad with eight kills while Berry followed with five.
Ife Loverton produced a three of blocks while
Cole Younger notched a match-high eight digs.
The Nittany Lions had a decisive advantage offensively, hitting .372 to the Pioneers' .039. PSU also out-dug Sacred Heart, 24-19.
