SHELTON, Conn. — Three Pioneers hit the net and Carly Greene turned aside 20 shots in a big home conference win today. The Sacred Heart Women's Hockey Team knocked off Franklin Pierce today at home at The Rinks, 3-1.

After a scoreless first, Franklin Pierce got on the scoreboard 2:48 into the second period. Sacred Heart got the equalizer with Olivia LaRoche's first career goal at the 7:04 mark on an assist from Paige McNeil to take a 1-1 tie into the third period.

Nicole Guidi put the Pioneers up 2-1 with her third goal of the year 5:32 into the third period with help from Rachel DeLong and Sophie Lupone. That turned out to be the game winner, the fourth of her career. SHU sealed the victory with a Delani Mackay empty-netter with 30 seconds to play.
