SHELTON, Conn. — Sacred Heart women's ice hockey had a rematch with Franklin Pierce in the last home contest for the Pioneers at The Rinks.
Molly Elmore stopped 30 shots and Delani Mackay had a goal but SHU fell 2-1 to the Ravens Saturday afternoon.
The next time the Pioneers will be at home is opening day of the Martire Family Arena, Jan. 15 against Harvard
Mackay broke the seal on a scoreless game 12:21 into the second period to get the Pioneers on the board first with help from
Paige McNeil and
Kelly Solak. Franklin Pierce was able to grab the equalizer with an early third period goal before netting another several minutes later. The home team had two power plays late in the third and pulled Elmore for an extra skater but could not find the equalizer.
Sacred Heart goes to 5-9-1 overall on the year and 5-5-1 in NEWHA play. The Pioneers will be back at The Rinks Tuesday as the away team where they'll see Post at 1 p.m.
