O’Malley Gets Win No. 300

Pioneers Beat Saint Anselm in NEWHA Play

Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sacred Heart matched up with Saint Anselm in NEWHA action Friday night on the road, winning 6-3, while head coach Tom O'Malley earned his 300th career victory.

Saint Anselm got on the board with 2:20 left in the first period, but SHU answered with a frenzy of goals in the second period, scoring four within 10 minutes to take a 4-2 lead into the final period.

Eight different Pioneers notched a point on the evening with multiple point efforts coming from Iyla Ryskamp, Kailey Smith and Kelly Solak.

Ryskamp's two goals within three minutes got the Sacred Heart scoring underway. Two goals came within 45 seconds in the second period with Nicole Guidi and Cassandra Nevers at the 7:52 and 7:08 marks. Delani MacKay and Solak's third period goals helped the Pioneers stave off the 6-3 victory.


Carly Greene was back in the net for SHU, stopping 35 while allowing three goals.


The Pioneers will have a rematch with Saint Anselm Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
