- First-year Conner Hutchison scored his first collegiate goal.
- The Pioneers scored their first power-play goal since November 6 at Mercyhurst.
- Junior Braeden Tuck scored his career-high seventh goal of the season.
- Junior Neil Shea upped his point streak to five with an assist on the Tuck goal.
- Niagara struck first coming 4:54 into the first period of the stick of Ryan Cox.
- Less than three minutes later graduate Troy Conzo fired his second goal of the year to even the score at 1-1, 7:03 into the period.
- Niagara countered with a goal coming 12:59 into the first to take a 2-1 lead.
- SHU answered back in the second as Hutchison scored his first collegiate goal on the power-play to tie the score at 2-2, 8:56 into the second period.
- Both sides fired off a pair of goals as sophomore John Jaworski tallied his second goal of the season 16:44 into the third period sending the game into overtime.
- The Purple Eagles had the last say as Walker Sommer scored the game winner just :39 seconds in the overtime period to walk away with the 5-4 victory.
