2021-22:

  • Skated in 19 games in his graduate season.
  • Registered two assists alongside five blocked shots.


2020-21:

  • Skated in 17 games in his senior season at SHU.
  • Recorded two assists for two points.
  • Tallied 19 shots on goal. 


2019-20:

  • Skated in 33 games, recording 14 points on two goals and career high 12 assists.
  • Tallied a +/- of +7.
  • Had a three point game at Mercyhurst on Jan. 11 as he tallied three assists. 

2018-19: 

  • Skated in 33 games, recording six points on three goals and three assists.
  • Tallied one multi-point game in Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals against RIT on Mar.13 with a goal and an assist.

2017-18:

  • Skated in 38 games, recording 14 points on four goals and 10 assists.
  • Ranked fourth on the team with 42 blocked shots.
  • Registered three multi-point games on the year.
  • Netted first career goal in SHU's 3-1 win over UConn on Oct. 14.
  • Tallied two helpers in SHU's 6-4 win over fifth-ranked Notre Dame on Oct. 19.
  • Recorded a goal and assist to go along with a plus-three rating in 6-2 win over Canisius on Nov. 4.

Prior to Sacred Heart: Spent the last two years with the Wenatchee Wild of the British Columbia Hockey League... He skated in 54 contests for the Wild in 2016-17, picking up 37 points from the blue line... Bates led the Wild defenseman with 34 assists... In his two seasons with Wenatchee, Bates recorded 50 points on six goals and 44 assists...Attended Highlands Ranch High School.
